    Optimization of morphological data in numerical taxonomy analysis using genetic algorithms feature selection method

    Studies in Numerical Taxonomy are carried out by measuring characters as much as possible. The workload over scientists and labor to perform measurements will increase proportionally with the number of variables (or characters) to be used in the study. However, some part of the data may be irrelevant or sometimes meaningless. Here in this study, we introduce an algorithm to obtain a subset of data with minimum characters that can represent original data. Morphological characters were used in optimization of data by Genetic Algorithms Feature Selection method. The analyses were performed on an 18 character*11 taxa data matrix with standardized continuous characters. The analyses resulted in a minimum set of 2 characters, which means the original tree based on the complete data can also be constructed by those two characters

    ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION AS KEY DETERMINANTS OF CANCER RELATED FATIGUE AMONG PATIENTS RECEIVING CHEMOTHERAPY

    Among non-communicable diseases, cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide. In Jordan, it is the second leading cause of death. Fatigue is the most reported symptom among cancer patients. The purpose of this study was threefold: (1) to explore the prevalence of fatigue as a side effect of cancer chemotherapy (2) to examine the impact of chemotherapy on fatigue, and (3) to investigate psychological factors (depression and anxiety) that correlate with fatigue. A one group before and after quasi-experimental design was used to conduct this study. The Integrated Fatigue Model (IFM) was used to guide the study. A Convenience sampling technique was used to recriut78 participants diagnosed with cancer and treated with chemotherapy as the primary treatment. The sample was collected from two well-known Jordanian hospitals. Fatigue was measured using Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS) and the psychological variables (depression and anxiety) were measured using Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Findings revealed an increase incidence of fatigue after a chemotherapy course. Also revealed was a statistically significant difference between pre and post chemotherapy fatigue mean total scores as well as behavioral, affective, sensory and cognitive dimensions. It was found that depression and anxiety have a positive relationship with fatigue. Depression explained 46% of fatigue score variance. Furthermore, anxiety explains 3.6% of the variance in fatigue scores. It could be concluded that fatigue is a prevalent symptom among cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Depression and anxiety were identified as possible predictors of fatigue among cancer patients receiving chemotherapy

    Kesulitan belajar dapat diartikan sebagai suatu kondisi atau keadaan dalam proses belajar-mengajar yang ditandai oleh adanya hambatan-hambatan tertentu untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang baik. Kesulitan belajar siswa dalam mempelajari Matematika dapat diidentifikasikan paling sedikit dalam tiga kategori, yaitu kesulitan dalam memahami konsep, menerapkan rumus-rumus pada penyelesaiannya serta kesulitan menyelesaikan masalah.Kendala yang dihadapi sebagian besar siswa merasa malu bertanya kepada guru jika ada materi yang belum dimengerti. Sehingga hasil belajar siswa cederung redah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya peningkatan prestasi belajar Matematika kelas XI IPA-1 SMA Negeri 1 Kauman dengan penerapan tutor sebaya, dan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya peningkatan ketuntasan belajar siswa dengan penerapan tutor sebaya.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Action Reseach Classroom). Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran dengan tutor sebaya prestasi belajar Matematika siswa dinilai meningkat

    Dalam proses pembelajaran fisika tidak lepas dari fenomena alam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kemampuan menghubungkan antar konsep dan daya ingat pesera didik dalam mempelajari konsep; medan gravitasi, medan listrik dan medan magnet rendah sehingga dalam menyelesaikan probelamatika fisika mengalami kendala dan berimbas pada hasil belajar fisika rendah.  Untuk dapat mengatasi hal tersebut penulis memberikan solusi dalam pembelajaran yaitu menerapkan konsep berpikir metode sinkronisasi dalam pembelajaran dengan 3 tahapan berpikir;  1) analisis konsep, 2). menghubungkan antara konsep dasar secara komprehensip, dan 3) aplikatif,  pada materi medan gravitasi, medan listrik dan medan magnet.  Dengan konsep berpikir metode sinkronisasi dalam pembelajaran ketiga konsep tersebut peserta didik merasakan situasi belajar yang menyenangkan, mudah mengingat kembali, dan mampu menemukan hubungan berbagai hal dalam menyelesaikan problematika ketiga konsep dengan katagori soal HOTS. The Physics learning materials stated in syllabus are closely related with natural phenomena in everyday life. Those are interconnected one another. The students’ ability to connect among the materials consept; gravitational field, electric field and magnetic field is inevitably needed for their better understanding of the materials. In fact, this is lour, and this results in their low achievement. To cope with this problem the writer sets forth the so called synchronization method, a way of thingking consisting three stages i.e; analysing the concept of the materials, connecting wholly among the materials, and applying both in the learning processes. The students’ applying the syncronization method during learning processes they are eased at understanding the learning materials and easily recall the materials and funally they learn physic with fun. Besides they are able to solve physics problem in HOTS level.
